CKF in Indonesia

Our founder and CEO Olivia traveled to Jakarta, Indonesia in 2024 to deliver 127 medical resources, educational toys, and books for kids with cancer at Tzu Chi Hospital. She also gathered a group of volunteers to create inspirational cards in Indonesian for the kids.

Olivia got the opportunity to meet with Tzu Chi Hospital's pediatric oncologists and patients. From Stella to Kinayu, Olivia witnessed the bravery, heart, and positivity these patients possessed. Olivia was able to hand-gift presents and cards and spend time drawing and playing with them.

Learning about the Indonesia healthcare system and landscape was transformative. Many patients in this area can’t afford treatment, resulting in families withholding treatment—and giving up their battle against cancer—due to unavoidable financial difficulties. As heartbreaking as this news was, Olivia and our team are now even more motivated to drive CKF’s impact in this new target country. She's working with hospitals in Yogyakarta and the Ministry of Health to improve patients' access to treatment.

An estimated ~100 patients receive treatment in this oncology ward. Attached are a few impact pictures from the trip!
